Preparing For Our Sweet Little Girl...

I know it's, once again, been a super long time since I've posted last. I can't promise I will get better once baby comes, either. I figured I'd post an update with what has been going on in our lives, the projects we've done for baby girl's room, how my pregnancy has been going, the fears that I have, and the anxiousness Kevin and I feel with just 5.5 weeks to go before our little girl is due!

First, the name...

Norah Margrette Herman

We love it! We came across Norah looking online. We decided we wanted an "old fashioned" name. We added the H to make it more "modern". Margrette is a name that is pretty important on my Momma's side of the family. My Momma's middle name is Margrette, and she is named after her Aunt Margrette, my Grandma's sister. This is also my sister's middle name. So, it has a lot of meaning.

I have had a very easy pregnancy so far. I feel like I'm definitely getting big, but I'm not yet too uncomfortable. I haven't had any of the horrible side effects I keep reading about, except a little bit of heartburn. I really can't complain. I just hope that baby and I continue to be healthy and everything goes well with labor and delivery. We are getting so anxious to meet her, we want to meet her so badly but want her to stay in my tummy until she is fully developed. In the mean time I am trying to keep myself busy getting everything perfect and ready for her arrival.

I have been going a little DIY crazy lately. Over the next few posts I will post some of the DIY projects I've done for Norah. Today, I'll start with my favorite: the tutu table. I first found a picture of a tutu table on Pinterest, and with Kevin's help decided to give it a try. I had the perfect table for it, a little white side table I had bought at Ikea years ago for when I was in college. Here are a few pictures of the process...

So there ya have it...I will continue to post more DIY projects I've done.

With just over 5 weeks to go I do have to say that I've had a little bit of anxiety. I think this is normal. I sometimes catch myself wondering if I will really be a good mother, if I will have any time for myself when baby comes, if Kevin and I will have time for each other, and if I will be able to juggle it all. You always hear those horror stories about how when you are a new mom you don't even have time to shower and how the baby stays up all night every night crying and you can't figure out why. I'm sure I will have these days and moments, but I just hope that I will be a good Momma and role model for our little girl. I'm not expecting to be perfect, although I do feel the need to do it all (keep up on cleaning, laundry, and taking care of baby), I will just have to prioritize and let the rest fall to the wayside, at least for a little while.

There is one other fear I have, and that is postpartum depression. I have a fear of being depressed.  I just would hate to be in a dark place like that. I know I would have an amazing support system if this ever happened to me, but it's still a scary thing.

I also wanted to share with you a few pictures from our maternity session with Lauren from The LCphotography. Lauren captured our engagement pictures, wedding pictures and now our maternity pictures. She has become a great friend and is a fellow momma-to-be herself (they are also having a girl...so excited for Baby O to arrive at the end of April!). Here are a few of my favorites. She, as usual, did an absolutely amazing job and we couldn't be happier!!!

Eeeek! Love them! All pictures are of course, copyrighted by LCPhotography.

And to end this post...here is my most recent bump pic, at 34 weeks!

Big bump!!!

Xoxo,

Dory
